Luminaspire is organizing Taharra World Forum as a professional knowledge platform dedicated to promoting a culture of responsible discernment, careful inquiry, and sound verification. Taharra is an Arabic concept that precedes verification. It refers to the practice of responsible discernment, careful inquiry, and sound judgment before accepting, sharing, or acting on information.
The Forum adopts a comprehensive approach that views trustworthiness not merely as a communication issue, but as a value that extends across the many sectors and fields with which people interact today. It is guided by a vision of building a more aware, informed, and resilient communication environment, one that is better equipped to navigate the challenges posed by the uncontrolled flow of information.
To achieve this, the Forum brings together experts, researchers, government entities, private-sector organizations, non-profit institutions, and individuals engaged in the fields of knowledge, communication, and human interaction.
Background
The Forum traces its origins to the Taharra Initiative, launched by the Scientific Analysis Office for Research and Studies, Luminaspire, in November 2024. The initiative itself was first introduced in an earlier form in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, in response to the surge of information and ideas that accompanied the crisis. Some of this content was of unknown origin, while other content was misleading, fabricated, or deliberately false.
At that stage, the initiative provided a range of advisory services and advisory services and products aimed at strengthening source credibility and encouraging careful inquiry, accuracy, and responsible engagement in human communication.
